Les Miserables: The Anime musical

Inspired by this awesome movie trailer! I was amazed at how well all of those clips matched up with the real trailer! [link]

I still need to use the scanner on my real drawings. And sleep. But I liked the idea of doing this (I did a Vocaloid version too, which I may upload sometime) and getting the different characters to play the different roles. The casting is:

Shizuo Heiwajima (Durarara!!) as Jean Valjean: They’re both strong and intimidating men with criminal records who have kind hearts under their threatening demeanors.

Inspector Lunge (Monster) as Inspector Javert: If you’ve seen Monster, then you’ll know why! XP

Rue (Princess Tutu) as Fantine: It was either her or Miranda Lotto from D-Gray Man. I decided that Rue’s emotional range was a little better.

Haruhi Fujioka (Ouran High School Host Club) as Cosette: Going by the book, Cosette and Haruhi actually have more in common than one would expect; they’re both artsy, smart, love reading, brave, have good relationships with their fathers, etc. etc.

Tamaki Suo (Ouran High School Host Club) as Marius Pontmercy: Of course! ^_^

Crona (Soul Eater) as Eponine: S/He acts like Eponine, is all sad like Eponine, heck, if we’re going by the book, s/he even looks kinda like Eponine!

Roy Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist) as Enjolras: No surprise. It was going to be Sousuke Sagara but he was too stoic.

Eiri Yuki (Gravitation) as Grantaire: Drunken gay/bisexual pessimists FTW!

Medusa Gorgon (Soul Eater) as Madam Thenardier: She’s Crona’s mother, so obviously she had to play Eponine’s mother. They’re very similar too, both being nasty, cruel, selfish people who only think of how they can profit from something.

Graham Spector (Baccano) as Thenardier: This one was harder to cast, but I didn’t want it to be DRRR’s Izaya because I wanted to give Shizuo a break (Les Miserables means “the miserable ones” not “the absolutely devastated”). Plus, I wanted to put someone from Baccano in here and Graham’s high energy levels would fit songs like “Master of the House” perfectly.

Momiji Sohma (Fruits Basket) as Gavroche:…I can’t say much more other than OMG THIS ONE’S GONNA BE SO SAD T_T!!!

Yukito Tsukishiro (CLAMP) as Bishop Myriel: "High Priest of Clow" anyone?

Chiyo Mihama (Azumanga Daioh) as young Cosette: She’s like the “Queen of the Lolis” I swear!

Bandit "In America" Keith (Yu-Gi-Oh) as Brujon/Gueulemer: IDK, he fits as the "big brutish thug" type.

Legato Bluesummers (Trigun) as Babet: Yeah.

Pride (Fullmetal Alchemist) as Claquesous: Because shadows.

Tyki Mikk (D-Gray Man) as Montparnasse: Charming? Check. Pretty? Check. Evil? Checkity check check.

Itsuki Koizumi (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) as Combeferre: He's a philosopher.

Firo Prochinaezo (Baccano) as Feuilly: Optimism FTW!

Kyouya Ohtori (Ouran High School Host Club) as Courfeyrac: Courfeyrac is Marius' ex-boyfriend best friend, and Kyouya is Tamaki's best friend. So there.

Death the Kid (Soul Eater) as Joly: 'cause Joly's a germophobe and Kid has OCD.

Vash the Stampede (Trigun) as Jean Prouvaire: "Jean Prouvaire is a member of the Society Of The Friends Of The A.B.C. (pronounced "ah-bay-say") who believes in peace, love, and happiness." Taken from Les Mis wiki. He's perfect for the role.

Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) as Lesgles: He was the only one I could think of to be Roy's second in command and I can picture him and DTK as friends (although Kid would probably be annoyed by Ed's lack of symmetry).

WHEW! That was long. Soooo that's it. The characters belong to their respective owners, Les Miserables belongs to Victor Hugo. Sorry for wasting you're time! Bye!
